Chukumereogo Okeke

Chukwumereogo (b. Nnenna Chimereogo Okeke) is a visual artist who explores themes on gender and culture, and uses them as a metaphor in assessing broader issues on socioeconomic and political inequality. She mostly likens human forms to landscapes in textured drawings against muted palettes. By using this style of drawing, she criticizes the cruel imbalance that is found when the dominant eclipses the minority. She works with acrylic, charcoal and pastel, and is exploring other media.
